I was hoping someone on here could be of some help to me and measure the width of your crossmember (bolt hole to bolt hole...and...edge to edge).

Reason I ask...I want to see if there is anyway that a skyline crossmember would bolt into a 350Z. If not, everything will just go as originally planned (custom mounts and modify stock crossmember), but if this would work it would be most crucial and save a good deal of effort.

they are all the same, chances are the r3x xmember will bolt in but you may need a gtr xmember due to the oil pan design...but then again i dunno what you are doing for that.

r32 and r33 xmembers are different.he doesnt need the gtr xmember, just needs to modify the oil pan, or use the rb25 pan.

all this is assuming he is talking about the r33 xmember

Well I have both the RB26 and RB25 oil pans. I am modifying the RB26 pan to remove the front output shafts and if all else fails I will put the RB25 pan in.

Is the need for the GTR xmember because the pan is bigger overall or because of the output shafts? Also, I heard that one the two (r32 or r33) crossmembers makes the engine sit low, which one is this?

ATpossible: is that edge to edge or hole to hole?....Also can anyone confirm that measurement for me? Thanks

Two other issues are the suspension control arm mounting points and the steering rack. My R33 crossmember is 29 3/4" From inside edge of bolt hole to the other inside edge.

hole to hole. that is y i said almost 100% positive cuz i know for sure its 768mm but i dont know if it was from hole to hole or end to end. im leaning towards hole to hole. worse case scenario if not that then u only need to add 1in max for total length or width i guess you could call it. it wont be less than 768mm. i think that is a pretty good measurement for what u need.

gtr x-member is different because of axles running from front diff. the x-member is rounded downward at the ends like a U to accept the axles going through it.

the other cross member is just like a rwd x-member. it is "more" flat throughout.

ie. the dip on the rb25 x-member has a small rounded slope to flat towards center then it goes back up.

gtr is flat but at the ends it rises up with a U type connection to frame with a gap in center to allow axles

hope that helped and made sense.

Ok I got a rough estimate on the width of my crossmember (it is still on the car and basically impossible to get a completely accurate measurement) but it looks like the bolt holes are the same dimesions as the skylines...but...from the pictures that I have seen of R33/R32 crossmembers, the mount for the lower control arm doesn't look like it drops down nearly as much as the one in my 350Z...let me know what you guys think....here is a picture.

that is front drivers side?

maybe u should find a fsm and find the exact length from frame rail to frame rail to give u a good idea if it will be more bolt on or more custom. good luck

things can be decieving, best bet is to just grab a xmember and drop yours...direct compareson is best.

Gosh, I thought this would have been cleared up a few days ago...

R33 GTS-T X-member. 77cm for the 1st holes center to center,75cm for the middle hold center to center,77cm for the 3rd hole center to center.
