skip shift eliminator??

ive noticed my 91 240 has a block on the gears to temporarily keep me from getting in them at high rpms. i take first up to redline and 2nd doesnt want to let me in.... is there a way i can get maybe a skip shift eliminator to take care of that? i dont mind it being on 1st to keep me from shifting 1st -> 2nd -> 1st while shooting for 3rd. but when im just going 1st -> 2nd i dont want anything to slow me down

Is your car manual if so you might have worn syncos, or you might want to try adjusting the clutch. Just a thought. Nick

has it ever grinded for you, if it has it may be syncros. If not dont worry about it and drive it, its a good thing to be able to push up on the shifter from 2nd gear and always hit 3rd.

btw, if you cant downshift to 1st youre prolly goin too fast.

First gear doesn't have a synchro and last time I checked you really can't (nor should you) downshift to first doing highway speeds 65+.

its a 5 spd and yeah its grinded before when i went to third i always figured i wasnt pushin the clutch in far enoguh but now that i think about it i push it in the same distance all the time. i just wanna be able to shift to 2nd 3rd and maybe 4th and not have anything slowing it down. my goal here is to beat a 3000gt in a 1/4 mile so i dont need anything slowing it down. ill probably even take out the back seats and spare for that race
