I have a 1990 Nissan 240sx with a 93 ka24de motor the wiring harness is switched and ecu. I have brian crower stage 2 cams and spring kit and a guy came and looked at my timing said the cams were not from same year as the idler sprocket cause it wasnt lining up and if its not the same year it wont run strong at all. Did they ship the newer cams? i got my motor from a junk yard could it not be a 93? I have had so many problems out of this car getting it to run right i just wish something would go right. put way to much money in it for it to keep messing up

91 to 98 ka24de for the 240sx are all the same... i know that for 98+ altima and frontier they switch to a single row chain instead of double row chain and switch the dowel pin on the intake cam to match up with the exhaust cam that means both dowel pins is pointing up. just make sure when you do the timing the intake and exhaust lobe on no. 1 cylinder is pointing away from the center.

well you definately came to the right place for help. for starters lets try and figure out your cam problem. first off bc only sells 1 stage2 cam set for the ka24de. thay are interchangeable between the FWD and RWD models of the ka24de and when used in the 240sx you need to grind the rear part of the exhaust cam off so it will clear the head cover. once that is done it should be a direct drop in. all 240sx ka24de use the same timing chain components.. if you bought it off ebay this is why it was so cheap and dont buy timing stuff from ebay. if you not sure what year your motor is there should be a year stamped into the pass side of the block just under the head just in front of the transmission, as far as the head i dont know where that marking is. you could post up pics of the problem and the offending parts, see if someone here has been through this before.
