I just got a plug and play Sirius Radio for Christmas and I'm thinking I want to keep it mainly in my 2002 I35. I really hate to install the antenna on the roof, but I read that's really the recomended place. Anybody have luck mounting it elsewhere? I'm also thinking about getting the modulator that connects directly to the car radio antenna. Does this require its own power source and where is the suggested source for that? Do I need an antenna adapter too for this setup ? Lastly, where do most of you mount this, when you have a seperate unit - the reciever ?

HEY I HAVE GOTTEN A SIRIUS RADIO 4 CHRISTMAS TOO. I DID MOUNT MAGNET ON MY ROOF ONLY BECAUSEITS BLACK AND MY 240 IS BLACK WHICH IS NO BIG DEAL. BUT YOU SAID WHERE DO YOU MOUNT THE ADAPTER RECIEVER? ITS ONLY NEEDED IF YOU ARE HAVING ALOT OF STATIC IN UR SETUP OTHERWISE IF UR OK WITH THE STATIC THING, IT DOESNT MATTER WHERE YOU MOUNT THE MAGNET AS LONG AS IT IS FACING STRAIGHT UP AT THE SKY.

You can try mounting the antennae inside your third brakelight. It isn't the recommended place, but a poster on another site used this option. He says he gets 5 bars, no problems and it is a clean install.

They will usually work perfectly fine on the dash if you have a place to hide it. If you have a dash cover/mat you can put it under it. We've even put it under some dashes that weren't to thick and had no metal content. Do some esperimenting. Rear deck could work fine as well.
