Sirius going to "invalid Channel" and not working?

my wife has been having some trouble with the Sirius on our 2006 M35. It has started displaying "Invalid Channel" and not working again until you restart the car. It doesn't seem to be a signal thing, more of a hardware problem. I am going to try to disconnect the battery tonight to reset everything if that is the problem.

If that doesn't work, where is the Sirius module located? according to my searches, it is in the trunk? also note, my M doesn't have the sharkfin antenna it has a little black antenna from Sirius which makes me think someone installed it after they bought the car. It seems strange that an aftermarket installed module will display all of the information as it would stock.. maybe it was just a shady install?

I am wondering if the module is going bad?
