Should I keep the two piece driveshaft design or change over to the traditional solid drive shaft in my D21. I'm in the process of upgrading to VH45De.

Single piece has less failure points and half as many Ujoints. No brainer there if it were my truck.

Minimally. Proper placement of a carrier bearing on a 2 piece shaft is to keep the two segments of the driveshaft as close to the same angle as possible - emulating what you'd have with a single piece. I'd stand by that the one piece is better in just about every way unless you have a ridiculously long vehicle. You will need a little larger tube diameter and/or thickness for a single piece if having one custom built.
