Our 2015 AWD Rogue very occasionally (and this is frustrating) makes a single, hard metallic click (like 1/2 of a D-Day Cricket, Google that if you're young) when reversing out of the driveway as the front wheels are turned. Has been dealer serviced since new and they could not duplicate and, fingers crossed, presume that they have checked CV boots as a matter of course during services and in any event is so sporadic it couldn't be a CV joint going bad. I thinking something in the front drivetrain or perhaps from the brakes. It sounds like it is at the front but it's hard to tell from the driver's seat. We currently are coming up to 45K km and I first noticed it in the summer so perhaps in the last 5-7K km.

If a single time as the wheels are turned then often a loose ball joint, the rockover in the wear slack as the load changes sideways due to the slow turn.

I've seen a bad strut mount bearing do it too.

I've seen a bad strut mount bearing do it too. Usually those though will often give some spring popping noise too to tell you what it is.
