I'm toying around with the idea of doing a custom setup in the middle...

Fair enough, but could you give me a reason why?

As much as I like the looks of that exhaust, I can't possibly justify spending that much cash on an exhaust system at this time (especially for a 2.5). I mean, USD$1400+ vs. CAD$250 for a custom build by a local buddy... It's not like I'm building a track/show car anytime soon!

How can people judge if there is no picture in this thread? Personally I like the single angle exhaust look on a G or Z. Its not terrible, but I would still choose a dual look over a single.

Boost or not, you can still do it on a NA car.

i do beleive you have this backwards. if you are driving an n/a car you really want to stick with a single muffler exhaust in most cases. not dual mufflers. if your coupe was turboed it would see a bigger gain from going to duals because of having less back pressure. too much loss of back pressure on a non turbo car causes loss of performance... and when im saying this i am saying this from a 4cyl point of view. but im pretty sure a long time ago .. 4 yrs or so ago. i read tht some 350z dual exhausts were actually losing performance compared to a single. i do like the look of dual tips on the coupe bu i also have been wondering about a single. so give us some pictures!

I have a custom 3" mandrel bent single exhaust on my 05 Maxima and I love it. its lighter weight since there is only one muffler, and it has a purposeful look.

If theres a cutout in the bumper for 2 pipes, and you have one, it looks dumb IMO...

If theres no cutouts at all, its fielders choice.

If there were no cutouts, I would probably opt for a center exhaust.

center exhausts can really look ugly. heck look at the cayman, from behind i looks like a person squating and pooping.

I actually saw a 350 Z with a duel exhaust but it was straight down the middle.

Super quick... (pic stolen from fiftytseng)

IMHO, the coupe is designed to be symmetrical. The only way a single offset muffler would look good is if you closed off the opposite side of the diffuser.

wouldnt a single streight thru exhaust be more benificial for a qr25 hp wise? Maybe I'm wrong. single exhaust would look better on a coupe than a sedan i would think.
