First of all, I'd like to say that I have searched about this before on Nico and I've searched on the net too, but I haven't found a clear answer to my question. I bought an accelerometer a few months back and i've been running it on my stock 1990 single cam 240. I've had pretty consistent times. On average the times came out to be around 10.5 on the 1/8 mile (I haven't found a long enough stretch of road for the 1/4 mile run).

I've recently purchased a Megan racing cat and did a run again and found that it was 10.3 on the 1/8 mile (but this was only once, i'll do more runs soon).

Could anyone tell me if this is anywhere close to the times a single cam like mine would be at the track? I've never taken mine to the track so I wouldn't know.... Hoping to go soon though.

On a side note:Someone here on NICO (dont remember who) told me that they had a single cam running on headers, full-cat, and intake and they were side by side with a Cobalt SS. Do you guys think that's correct info?

*I've written about this before also, but haven't gotten much feedback on it.*

your talking about a gtech or similar device?

sounds about right. I know a guy with a single cam hatch that ran a 10.2 in the 1/8th mile. It's stripped tho.

just for reference i have a s14 twin cam motor and s14 transmission in my coupe, stock intake, exhaust ( aside from a muffler ), and the EGR, charcoal canister and all other emissions and the 2ndary Butterflies disabled. I walked a 2000 body style GT-s celica and kept up with a TC 5speed

as much as I hate cobalts, the ss is pretty fast. With just those mods on a single cam or even a dual which isn't much better there's no way it could even keep up with a cobalt ss.
