Sup guys, Just picked up a 1990 Z32 and was wondering if there are any advantages to having a dual intake, like the Selin intake, over a single intake. Sometimes I feel I should just get a JWT pop charger and call it the day... I know that there are no significant gains to an NA motor like there is on a TT but anything is gotta be better than the stock airbox. Thoughts?

Stock airbox < Single POP < Dual POP. However on a NA you will not see any difference from the single to the dual and in fact you may see a decrease in drive-ability with the Dual.

No need for that much air unless you're also getting that much fuel, like in a built TT motor with 555cc injectors or higher. Single POP is good enough

Its not even about the amount of air its about the fact that on idle with twice the cross-sectional area of the MAFs you may not achieve the air velocity to allow the MAFs to read well so you will have idle issues, these issues have the potential to exist with every Dual POP car but usually the guys running Duals are running lots of other mods and have very good tunes which even out the idle issue.

Or are running a Selin kit like I am on my NA. No tune needed and bolts up without any issues in drivabilty.

There is really no point in running a dual pop on an NA since a single pop can support 500whp and obviously a NA will never achieve that.

So I suggest you just get a JWT single pop and roll with it.

I have dual pop's with the selin on my n/a with zero drivability issues. My idle is perfect.

Well there you go, I don't have any experience with the SELIN Translator so I cant speak on that issue, but I have seen people have idle issues with other setups (AFC), good to know the SELIN is all its cracked up to be.

It's not so much the extra power, but rather the improvement in throttle response from running shorter intake piping and smoother airflow per bank of cylinders. My intakes sounds gnarly... hahaha
