MAFS PLACEMENT

I know the mafs generally goes between the filter and the throttle body... but what about on a boosted car, does it go on the filter to the turbo?

and i was curious, if you still ran it right before the tb and put an atmospheric bov before it, would you still run into some problems like ive read about? (less throttle response ect)

In the stock configuration, it goes right after the air filter, before the turbo.

You can't run it right in front of the TB because the opening and closing of the TB screws up the signal from the MAFS. You also have to deal with it gumming up from oil on a blow through setup. There are lots of people who run an atmospheric BOV with the MAFS in the stock location with out any problems.

when you put it between the turbo and the throttle body, its called a blow throught set up.

some people do it, some love it, some hate.

it does have problems like float said, with oil and the change in air movement from the tb.

it can work though.

you also have to worry about boost. more than like 10psi will reduce the life of your maf drastically so keep that in mind also.s

Yeah with the oil in the turbo intake from blowby and turbo oil seals, you'd be cleaning out the MAF daily. The MAF has to be kept clean mmm'Kay.

The correct order is: filter, MAF, intake pipe with all air returns in the low pressure pipe between the MAF and the turbo, and then the turbo.
