thought you guys might like to see what i gave up to get a Q45. 2.8L 12Valve V6 swapped into a 1995 VW Cabrio, with TONS of upgrades, euro trim, 2000 and up interior, all OEM, All top of the line parts...

Hopefully the flame nazis dont come in and whine about no Q45's... But now that this is sold i'll finally have the $$ for air and wheels... look out ground, here i come

Sometime next week the car should be on a truck to Conneticut. Long journey to its new home.Cant say im excited, but its what needs to be done. My life might be changing drastically here in the near future and i need to prepare for that.

and so it shall begin: (oh, this is by far the hardest color to photo. never ever looks the same in any light - Ice Violet Metallic)

I'll start here. This is what a legal motorswap looks like

everything else...

Nice lookin VW..... Back seat for midgets only...

I certainly do respect your motivation to do things right and keep your ride looking as clean as it is mechanically (hopefully)...

I cant say the same about myself.. my Q is clean, but far from perfect cosmetically.

WOW, that VW is pretty hot!

I have a friend who lost both his legs in Vietnam. He wouls be comfortable in that back seat.

I would love to see the Q when you get her. Definitely post some pics.

Welcome to the world of Q-dom. May the force be with you.

its perfect mechanically, everything is wired with all OEM connectors, same as the factory, no splices, no dead ends, keyless entry off the late models, its as if the factory built the car.

I've always been a fan of VW's especially those with the VR-6. I wanted a Corrado for the longest time, but just couldn't find any "deals" .

I've seen a couple swapped cabrio's and always wondered why VW never seemed it was appropriate to offer the V6 in the drop top??

Nice looking interior, but the color (at least in the pics) looks un-striking, though very clean and smooth.

its one of the rarest colors vw ever offered. Ice Metallic Violet, only 95' cabrio, only german built cabrios. Im not sure why it wasnt offered in the cab, possibly due to its ability to twist the chassis w/ the 2L. With the top down its a wierd ride.

Does this help the color at all?

Louis, those pics help, it's definitely an "under"-stated color.

Nice, but at this point, I'd have to sell my motorcycle to buy another toy and I just don't see that happening .

Having lived in West Hollywood for quite a number of years I can comfortably tell you that most gay men drive Porsches - most 993s some Boxters.

BTW - interesting use of 928 rims!

TKD,

Where in W. Hollywood? I lived on Hayworth (right next to the Director's Guild) for a few months. You're definitely right- Porches, and BMW 3 series seem to be the most popular for those living an alternative lifestyle.

Whether you're a new memeber or one that's been around for a long time, let's keep it less insulting an more constructive.

I've cleaned it up and lets hope it can return it to the original purpose ... providing us with some background on a new memebers former cars.

Since you've got some VW background, do you have any info/pics of the 08 Corrado? I hear it's very "coke bottle" shaped and possibly an AWD 3.2 V8??

well it wouldnt be a 3.2L, VW is dumping that infavor of a 3.6L 24V V6 rated somewhere around 300-340 (supposedly) in all of their newer 06/07 sport-ish cars

We used to live up near Fairfax and Santa Monica. My wife lived there since 91 and I moved in in 98 when we got married. We just left in summer 04. I really do miss that place. So many great cars on the streets everyday!
