Hello All,

I was at Vato-Zone today *trying* to buy a wire bristle brush when I saw this guy showing off his wheels to a few friends. I was parked next to him so I checked them out when I got in my car. I don't know what brand they were, but I did see that they had the "simulated" bolts or bead locks or three-piece look. You could tell and it looked crappy.

I've seen this a lot lately and I don't understand it personally. If you like the look, then scrimp and save and do it right; otherwise it just looks dumb. I know it's just my opinion and I'm sorry if you feel otherwise, but if you do, could you please explain it?

What exactly looks good about the fake wheel bolts/two/three piece design? I could see if it wasn't blatantly obvious, but that's just not the case!

You can't skimp and save and do it right really

Bead loc is not DOT approved, so doing it right, is actually getting the fake or "mock lock"

It's really a not-so-cool look, but whatever floats yer boat! Off road, a true bead lock is priceless and will save time & hassle.

For real drag race cars, bead lock is a must. I've only seen one car ever, come into my shop(in a closed climated controlled trailer) that would approach the level of needing a true bead lock wheel.

Typically, I despise spending money on non-functioning stuff. Appearance mods are wasted mods.

Its an extra disc around the rim that clamps the bead of the tire onto the flange so it cant twise/break loose..

My uncle has some of those on his 64 landcruiser, changing tires is a snap.
