Ok, I have a sohc 240, and am on the 3rd engine in it, and trying to make it last as long as possible. It is already having some issues, namely running way to rich. I was wondering if anyone has done any simplification of the wiring and/or vacuum system. Most of the old things that are there don't need to be hooked up anymore, and I would like to rid myself of as much superfulous things as possible. So, just curious what others have done in this way, thanks

Heres what you do. Locate the fpr and the iacv(the thing in the middle of the intake manifold). Now source vacuum to these two items, about a foot of tubing combined, and remove everything else. If it even looks at you funny pull it out. Someone did a write up on this. Search under emmissions removal or something to that effect. Good luck.
