I’m in the middle of my sr swap. My question is what vacuum source can I use to control the wastegate? I know you’re supposed to use the nipple on the intercooler piping but my piping doesn’t have a nipple. Can I use the larger bottom nipple on the throttle body? (the one for the canister)

I’ve searched around on nico and google but all I can really find are people who don’t seem to know what they are talking about or people just using the nipple on the intercooler.

IT does not need vacuum. It only needs a boost source. Get one of these from FRSport and put it in the coupler that goes from the turbo to your hotpipe.

If you decide to go with the quick-tap fitting or something similar, keep it as close to the boost source as possible, just like in the pic. Your w/g will thank you.

sounds good thanks

just out of curiosity, what would happen if it was hooked up to the vacum line for the canister? Also while I have this tread started. I have a Gready knock off bov and it has 2 vacuum line nipples on it. witch one do I use? top or bottom, and whats the difference?

Trash it. Every person that I see get one, throws it away a week later. They have some serious leaking issues.

The bottom nipple is connected to the bottom of the piston, the part where the charge pipes pressure pushes upward. When you get off the throttle, and strong vacum takes over the top portion of the bov, the charged air's pressure compressees the spring and lifts the plnunger up. The bottom nipple should be conncted to a charge pipe somewhere, it will help make the actuator function faster and open quicker. its just a little extra push up.
