Lately I have noticed quite a bit of threads on forums requesting ways to install parts or how to fix/remove parts. I remember a guy posting saying that he intends to make videos of each mod he does so that others can benefit from his experiences.

So my simple question is... would you guys visit a website dedicated to installation and other various "mods" for the Versa? I have done a couple of websites and I am up to the challenge or coding one from scratch so the experience would be original and simple to use for those who aren't so up to date with their technology.

You'd be able to visit the site, follow the step-by-step tutorials on how to do certain things or fix them. Rate them, look at the pictures, browse other profiles/photos and who knows what else.

Your guys' input would be greatly appreciated. If anyone would like to help in ways of promotion or layouts/design, logos, of any sort that would be amazing too.

Thanks for reading my post. I look forward to hearing back from you guys. Also any comments, suggestions, or even "concerns" would be nice. If you honestly think that this would be worthless please say so.

Anyone willing to participate?

All in one place, the only thing where ever you host it, make sure it is solid. should be fun

I like the idea, especially if there was a link to it from this forum, but don't we already have that available to us here? It's in the "FAQ and General Info" area stuck at the top of these threads.

Would another site really be necessary?

Weird. I never noticed that section. But anyways there isn't much to chose from. I want people to be able to come to the site and know how to install their CIA or how to install their HID's, and so on. A lot of people ask repeat questions and fail to use the search function. Even when they do they have to scroll through pages and pages of topics and conversation just to find a simple answer they were looking for.

I am looking to eliminate all the time spent searching. If the site gets built than you will be able to chose from a couple of categories (interior, exterior, etc...) and it will provide a link right there for you to see exactly what you want with picture steps.

Once people start posting others can leave comments and I'm hoping they can be able to rate how well the do it yourself "tutorial" was written.

Also another thing I was hoping to add was a product review and a new product section.

Product Review: Users will be able to submit a product that they have or just bought and they can inform us on the details. This should get rid of all the posts asking if the OBX Header is worth buying or should I get the AEM or Fujita CAI. Users can post their experience with the product and list and problems or concerns. More than one person can "review" a product that way everyone can read several reviews and can decide overall.

New Products: I'm hoping to add this "feature" to let people know when new products come out for our Versa's whether it be a new grill, some lug nuts, or even an engine swap (we all wish lol).

Anyways there are some more updates on my plans. Keep the comments coming please. :DI'm thinking that I am going to start working on the site tonight. Any suggestions for other "features" would be sweet.

Thanks for your time guys!

Good luck with it. I stilll think, though, that a lot of what you're doing could be accomplished by adding a reviews sticky and more tutorials to what it already here. Have you discussed it at all with AZ or one of the super moderators?

I would think creating a forum for DIY installs here on NissanVersa.org would be a better solution. It means no coding required by you, and then you can spend that valuable time making the videos of product installations. Plus, there is already an audience here that would look at the posts, versus a new site where you would need to find a way to attract people.

I can understand that having it in a thread is ridiculous. It's like the 'for sale' thread. It's a joke and not easy to use. There should be a forum for "Buy, Sell, Trade" with rules established and there should be a forum for "DIY Installation" with text, pictures, and video.

Just my .02 cents.

My idea isn't to "attract" or "steal" users from the forums. Just simply an extra little "piece" (if you will) that users can use to find something specifically they are looking for. I have had a few instances myself where I have been looking for some answers and I couldn't find them on the forums even with the search button. Than when you have to make a new thread asking a question it usually takes a day or so to get a response that your looking for that fulfills your request.

The coding isn't a problem for me. I have extra time at night because I have insomnia and hardly get any sleep. It will give me something to work on and to actually be productive. I really want to help out the Versa community and get our cars out there so that we can possibly get new products and get some more people into Versas.

Last night I said screw it and I designed a little structure layout for the site. It's not completed yet so I'll just post a SS. Let me know if there is anything that you think I should change or something that you like. It'll help me make the site the way the people want it. Simple and easy to use. I will keep you guys posted.

Please keep the comments coming. It will help finish this site and get the ball rolling. Remember; I am not trying to get people to stop coming to the NICO forums. I get this site about 10 times a day. What I am wanting is a sort of "partnership" with the forums. Possibly exchanging links so that other people won't have to remember sites. They will be to easily navigate between them. (The Affiliates/Sponsors space is hopefully for a Versa forum thats willing to participate). I hope things work out for the best. Here is the structure so far... let me know what you think.

Any comments / concerns are really appreciated. Whether its positive or negative. It doesn't matter to me, it will help out in the long run.

Thank you for your time.

Sounds great and I like the idea of the site. If there were such a site though I'd be on it for the ideas as I am very clumsy when it comes to doing stuff with cars so I'd just use it to get ideas for what I would want to do for my car.

Thats what I do on CarDomain. lolI like to see what others have done to their cars. It helps me get ideas of things to do to my V that other people haven't even thought of.

Thank you for your input. :D

User system is nearly complete and I would soon like to have a couple of people test it out. These people will also be the first people to test out the other features of the site.

Basically right now what is complete is this: -Register -Login -Logout -Edit Profile (need more fields)* -User list I'd say maybe by tomorrow or the next night the User System should be mostly complete (other things will just be waiting for other features to be complete). Than I will start working on the Tutorial submissions and so on. It won't take long at all if you are interested in helping. If you are interested in helping please leave a post and I will email you the temp link to the site.

Thanks guys. I will keep you posted.
