hey my girlfriends car wont start up. i just hear a bunch of clicking. the car wasnt driven in 2-3 days. any ideas what it might be? i want to fix it for her. its just a dodge intrepid. on a side note, it finally got cold here. like 28 degrees that morning

try jumping it. i that won't work, it may have a bad starter.

multimeter the battery. If it's below 12v, probably like 10-11, battery is low. You may need to do a "longer jumpstart" - i.e. let the battery charge for a few first, then start the dead car.

If that doesn't work, or if battery is close to 12v, have her turn the key while you take a pipe or bat or something and tap the starter. If that starts the car -> starter is bad.

Once everything checks out and car is running, do a multimeter check on the battery again and if it is showing 13v+, usually 14, then your alternator is ok also.
