Briefly, I just purchased a new vehicle and haven't been giving the ol' 240 (S14) much love lately. Eventually, the battery drained (it's a 2 year old West Co.) so I decided to relocate a bigger battery to the rear. I've yet to run the power cable though.

Anyways, I was looking at my fuel gauge and noticed that it was still telling me the correct fuel reading even though there is no power (actually the battery is still hooked up but it has about 4 volts on it). Shouldn't it be all the way down, like the rest of the gauges in the cluster?

Thanks! :)

Also, I'm thinking of running the power cable through the ECU grommet hole. Is this a good idea? I think it is, the jacket on the cable (0 gauge) is REALLY thick, should not cause EMI, if any.

Id order a new grommet and drill a new hole. As for the gauge.. eh it should be off but it may be lingering at that 4V, disconnect the batt and see what it does.

Fuel gauge doesn't read when the ignition is off. Stays at the last reading until key is on.

Thanks biggie!

Almost done with the battery relocation, just need to run the cable through the firewall.

Is this a good spot to drill a hole thorugh? It is right under neath the glove compartment.
