Hey everyone,

I'm always cautious when it comes to lifing the car...it still amazes me that so much weight is lifted in the air and I'm working near it. I don't want to leave this process to interpretation, I really want to get some clear instructions.

Anyway, I know that the good places to lift the car with a jack are the front crossmember (haven't taken a look at the exact location yet) and the rear differential. (anywhere else?)

Now, my primary concern is where to place the jack stands. I don't think i have the guts to lift the whole car up on 4 jack stands, but I was wondering where the ideal places for the jack stands would be, both for the front and rear end.

Any help would be apprciated...I'm going to do some major cleaning on the stock 16's tomorrow.

thanks.

Chris

just make sure to put them on a area so that the springs arent still supporting the weight of the car. I like to use the suspension sub frame to support the car, but every one does it slightly difforent. Remember to put stops on the wheels still touching the ground and always work on a flat surface when using jackstands.

and keep the jack just slightly below the stand level at a mid point between the 2 just as a safety incase lightning strikes one of them or something.

I'm a little uneducated, could you give me a little more detail on where the suspension subframe is?

also, if any of you use any other jack stand points that have worked well for you, please let me know. thanks!

Place floor jack under the crossmember to lift front and rear differential for rear. It is recommanded by Nissan Dealer and Other refernce manual. And place jack stand under the frame. Don't forget to put wood or other material between frame and jack stand to prevent any damage on the frame. I've been working under the car almost 2 years since I owned 240. And these are the most clear instruction for me.
