The bigger question is, "How does aluminum react to simple green?".

Pure Simple Green corodes alluminum or pits it. Either way its not good, if you you must dilute it in water.

How does aluminum respond to brake parts cleaner?

I used brake parts cleaner and all it did was give me little chunk dots of coolant.I'm just gonna try cleaning it with some Carb cleaner.

Not sure. I typically use greased lightning for cleaning and even then it isn't on the parts for more than a minute or two.

Diluted simple green (2:1 or weaker) is safe for cast or forged aluminum. I would not let it stand too long on thin rolled, anodized or polished though as etching might tarnish the shine.

The stuff is GREAT. In my flying days, we used it (10:1) expensively everywhere on aircraft of all kinds and types because it is safe, environmentally friendly, easy on human flesh and eyes, and non-corrosive. Great for epoxy and carbon fiber stuff too and doesn't attach paint. Perfect for removing smashed bugs off glider wing leading edges.
