Wow, way to state the obvious, most people on this board know all that useless info....I don't know which is worse, you wasting the space, or me responding to it (probably the latter).

You get comments on punctuation and grammar because you HAVE NONE. You may not care about looking completely uneducated, but everyone here hates to look at posts that are unreadable.

Saying that you are only 17 is just pathetic. I learned to spell most words properly by 4th or 5th grade. I learned proper punctuation around the same time.

You sound like you should own a Honda, go pick one up.

grrrrrrrr about the honda comment (sp?) Apexi, I own one :-(

miss spelled words are ok, we all do that at one time or another. the most annoying thing though is ur use of run on sentences . PLease use at least a period (that's this one here--> . <-- , its the 2nd key to the right of the letter M.

we appreciate ur love for the car we all cherish, but we're more intrested in u finishing school and speaking properly.

A MIND IS A TERRIBLE THING TO WASTE.

hahahaha, thats too funny.

Ok, you had a learning disability your entire life, yet every post you type has come out coherent and decipherable. His you can't even read. Misspelling is fine, cause no one spells perfectly, no one uses grammar perfectly, but use a couple of periods, seperate thoughts, ect. The kids problem isn't just spelling, he types in the wrong stuff, and doesn't correct it...

But back to the original post, no the 240 isn't the greatest sports car ever. There are many that are superior. Saying its the "greatest" is stretching it a bit.

Spelling/grammar aside, is the Silvia the greatest sports car? Uh, no. Not even the best Nissan/Datsun. Sorry. Matthew is right. 1970 Datsun 240z is a far better sports car than the Silvia, but the 240Z is not the greatest sports car either. Greatest sports car is more likely to be the Ferrari 275 GTB-4 coupe or NART spyder, 427 Shelby Cobra. I could list countless others, even affordable ones that are better than a Silvia. Silvia is a nice car, but not on the list of the greatest.

Beating the sh*t out your car "drifting"in a parking lot doesn't define being a good sports car. Most people with Ferrari's are not going to abuse their cars that way.. I suppose Silvia's are better suited for drifting than other cars, but it's not the best sports car. You want some versatile, less expensive cars than a Ferrari or Cobra that are superior "sports cars" to a Silvia? BMW M3, or even an Audi S4. You got to drive one on a race track to understand the difference, not by doing donuts in the parking lot. Regards.

I personally think that the Mazda RX7 was the greatest sports car ever. They were very finicky, and prone to breakage, but they were also very versitile. They didn't have a backseat, nor did they have much room for luggage, but that'a not what they were made for. They were made for driving.

the S-13 thru S-15 are versatile and fairly inexpensive sports cars.for what they are capable of, for the price you pay...quite a car.

greatest sports car ever? i love silvias; however, a stating that they are above and beyond cars such as porshes and the almighty mcclaren is somewhat ignorant.

the best thing the silvia has going for it is it is a good platform with inexpensive mods and repairs available. people don't drift mcclaren because ever drifter makes mistakes and you don't want to make one in a $1,000,000 car. as for wangan racing....silvias can hang...but not many in the company of skylines and FD's......and deffinately not with a mcclaren that pulls over 230mph straight from the factory.

it's nice that you love the car just like every other person on this board, and understand it is annoying to read posts that show such little care. if you don't care enough to make you posts easily read....people will not want to read them and just click the ignore button. it's about courtesy.

p.s. "i'm only 17".........oh nevermind

I definitely love the RX-7, but i would have to go with an exotic on this one. Maybe a Lamborgini or Ferrari...McLaren is definitly at the top of the list.

maybe if it wasn't butt ugly....

no.... closer to the top of my list would be cars like the 550 spyder...

and if the market defines the best sports car..... the Miata/MX-5/Eunos roadster (depending on where in the world you are) has sold over 600,000 copies... it's in the guiness book .... and in terms of feel and driver feedback and the "grin-factor" they don't come much better... and they're cheap too...

and if it has 4 seats... it's not a sports car.... yes that means everyones favorite *GT* car is NOT a sports car... (911/930/964/993/996) .. yes this is a very narrow harsh definition.... but one has to draw a line somewhere....

the point of a sports car isn't the speed... it's the feel... the conection between car and driver.... some of the most wonderful feeling sports cars of all time are slower than a damn Geo Metro.... but that's ok, because that isn't the point...

Hey now, lets let him have a little slack here. Some people are too lazy for proper grammar online. But before we all let off, I have to say that I'm 15 and in the dumbest state (GA) in the country, I use better grammar than you man. Come on, use a little punctuation.

As far as content, yes, this is true. However, there are cars that out-perform the Silvia consistently. The RX7, Z, Supra, and Skyline (of course the GT-R would). However, as far as bang for your buck, I believe that if the Silvia were sold here, it would definetely be the best.

Oh, this is Japan only that I mention, Euros have their own greats (GT2, Porsche Turbo's, M3, Ferrari...).
