I was reading another post that I can't find now that was about the same as this but I need some more details.

I am buying this car for $3000 with a rev problem. Every where I have read the problem is the MAF. I'm still waiting on the mod list for the car so I am not sure if it is the stock MAF or not but I would almost put money on it that it is not.

The car was running fine while he replaced the speakers in the rear deck. The car died and when he started the car again it would not rev over 2500 rpms. He was told it was a MAF problem and tried to replace it with a Z32 MAF and it still didn't work.

I read that the ECU needs to be flashed to tell it what MAF you are using. Is it possible that when he was hooking up the speakers that he some how managed to rest the ECU to read for the stock MAF?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I dont believe that could happen, where u was talking about resetting the ecu. I mean wherever ur friend was doing his wiring obviously there was something in that area that was altered. Unless he was wiring near the ecu and crossed some wires somehow ..but i would just start from where he was meesing around at and trace it to its end points. Hook a voltameter to maf and check the reading.
