Does anyone know what a fair market price would be for a silvia imported from japan would be? Kinda curious because the guy that got me my motor said he can get me one in 3 weeks.

but it's gonna be RHD...that wont be legal am i right or wrong?

i thought it had nothing to do with the SR20DET but just the fact that the car is not up to USDM standards in crash tests (among other thigns such as emissions standards)

I don't know if you're allowed to import it, but it may be possible..

You may be able to import it labeled as a "kit car" and then you can drive it legally, ala Noble M12. But you'll want to do more research. As far as whether it's worth it, if it has 2k worth of aftermarket parts, then I guess it is. But since it's a jdm car.. it might be worth it on that fact alone. But you have to factor in the shipping costs and such...

i say if he is a reputable guy then go for it, that is how i got mine. but it will not be legal to drive on the street just as a show or track only car. i paid 6000 for mine but i wanted a certain car, but he was selling silva chassis for about the same price or alittle more. just watch out for frame damage because i'm pretty sure he is picking them up from salvage yards and all the workers like to move cars with fork lifts and it kills the underside of the vehicle.

Its supposed to be shipped to Indiana and legalized federally there, i.e. adding steel supports to the doors and the like. I'm not 100% sure of the emissions part, but I know that I personally can get away without having to smog it. I'm not so sure of how he does it but my friend says he's done it to forty or so others. He said he can swap my built sr into it rather quickly and get the car here and rolling legally by early October. I hope it goes well without any bs along, but everyone knows how that goes. Murphy's Law sucks.
