Good job, you must be really happy, I saw your car when it didn't have any lights. How long did you not have lights? I remember when I first installed the front end on my car I was smiling from ear to ear.

you should paint the entire car the color of the front end conversion.

Any particualr resaon you get a Q's conversion? I know myself, I really think I am going to get a Aero conversion for my coupe and Almighty badge (A's) Looks very nice though! I like seeing folks putting 180SX non Type-X tails on their RMS13s. Looks more beleiveable;)

Paint should go on in about a monthor two, when funds for this sort of thing are available... (after the suspension is done :D)

AS for the color, i hate to be trendy but she's going to be painted blue for Initial D styling, and gold meshies are NOT going to be a part of this one.

rico05 - i didnt have much of a choice when it comes to the Q's style front. Aero fronts are extremly rare and cost and arm and a leg for an "actual" OEM front bumper and the side skirts. I know, cause i wanted it first.

wangless - with damage repairs and everything, about $1500

kim - the car has been without lights for a month and a half :( it really sucked waiting that long too

By the way, thanks for the replies guys, i appreciate it.

damn it, the engine is overheating now. Anyone here have problems with heat when you put a header on? I noticed that the intake filter was pretty hot... along with everyhting else under the hood.

Probably because no heat sheild? Try using Water Wetter additive for Coolant. Alot of BMW guys like this stuff, mostly for autocrossing. Says it suppose to make you car run 20 degrees cooler with just water and Water Wetter. Good luck

You won't need to worry about me;-)

If I ever do a front end conversion on my hatch, it'll be to an S14a front.

Im still having problems with overheating due to the header. I think i might have to scrap it or buy a cold air extension for my intake. Which do you guys think would work for me? It sucks having a conversion if you cant drive it.

Out of What? And how do i mount it when i dont have screw holes?

BAH! I know you dont have ALL the answers...:D

By the way to all who care to know... the lighting is much better on these triples than the flipups. It makes me wonder why anyone ever complains about the quality of these suckers. :thumbup

oh yeah, i heard that a big cooling issue comes from that grille, so i say remove it until you can buy a new grille insert that lets air through...*the thing that says SILVIA*

i could see that causing issues on the track, but not on the street. One thing he could try is to remove the resonator box underneath the filter area. That should allow colder air in right at the filter. I'm hesitant to use CAI systems due to possibility of sucking water into the engine and causing hydro lock.

Does it matter that i dont have a thermostat in the engine?

It may be so cause its fine really until i hit the throttle hard or sit in traffic for a long time.

Im getting it checked professionally on monday or tuesday to make sure that it's not the head gasket. I hopa that my head isnt warped too:(...

Im not worried asbout hydrolock, cause i live in MD. We dont really get any water to speak of and im not planning to drive through big puddles anyway, its bad for my joint grease.

put a thermostat in. A header will not cause your engine to overheat.

Congrats, that conversion looks really good. I would love a coupe with the Q's front and those same tails ;)

hey look, there is no "tails". Its just the 180SX center piece, thats all. 180's have the same lights as hatches do period.

BTW car is running cooler now, im just going to change the oil and put on the CAI extension and call it quits. I could get a "clip on" heat shield made up for like $100, i wonder if its worth it...

Dude, screw the heat shield, you don't need it, especially if you're getting a CAI!
