I just completed my conversion this weekend. We had to remove the USDM bumper reinforcement and since I did not get a JDM reinforcement with my kit I had to complete the conversion without it. You will have to remove the reinforcement in order to complete your swap. I'm looking for a JDM reinforcement now so if you know where to find some let me know.

This thing had to come off in order for the bumper to reach the fenders!

Tell me how you managed to get the bumper over that thing. We tried and tried but could not make it happen.

All i had to do was drill new bolt holes about 3/4 of an inch from the old ones and bolt it back onto the frame

No, if you look at the mounting bolts for the USDM support you will see what he is talking about. There are (on the S14 at least) 2 large bolts that hold it on both sides. What he did was take it off, drilled 2 new holes for the bolts about 3/4" further towards the front. This then allows you to mount the support further inward (towards engine) which then allows you to install the bumper.

I'm gonna do her this weekend because my bumper just doesn't look quite right without being attached to the support.
