How do fellow Altima owners feel about a Silvia badge? For arguments sake, it's where we came from! Also, Silvia's eventually used the 2.4L KA24DE which the 240SX used. Apparently at one time our cars were strictly for test sales to see how a small I4 block engine would do to rerelease the Sivlia!

I think it would look nice next to the cherry red rear lights our cars have.

I originally assumed the same about the accord war but it still makes sense.

My mistake. You're right about the KA. But it did use a 2.4L FJ.

EDIT: Aside from those remarks what about the badge? I'm looking at the black one now. If anything I'll keep my Nissan one on. Not a big deal, thought it would be fun and less ricey than putting SE-R on it. Haha.

EDIT: We both stand corrected. It did use a KA24.
"The S13 Silvia, introduced in mid-1988 for the 1989 model year, was immensely popular in Japan. The Silvia name was no longer used on export models, however; European models were now known as 200SX."

In Japan the 240sx was called a Silvia but had a SR20DET or SR20DETT (I forget). The older SE-R sentra's had an SR20DE that some people turbo'd....

LOL I didn't see this. I just edited my post before I saw this >.<! But yea.. I thought I was right on some level!

"Engine(s) 2.4 L KA24E I4
2.4 L KA24DE I4
2.0 L SR20DET I4
2.0 L SR20DE I4
1.8 L CA18DE I4
1.8 L CA18DET I4"

Silvia used those engines.

You're both right; the Altima Coupe did shed two doors from the sedan to give the Accord Coupe some competition in sales. While robbing the Accord Coupe of it’s riches with the Altima Coupe; its main purpose was apparently a marketing test mule for the Silvia/240SX's return to the North American market’s, but the economy went to crap globally and as far as I know the Silvia plans have been put on hold. Due to this the Altima Coupe might make it to a second generation; I just hope Nissan doesn't mock our cars and make a convertible version when it comes time for the next gen's. As for re-badging your A/C as a Silvia: No; it maybe a stepping stone for a return of the Silvia, but it's not a Silvia even if it becomes the closest thing we see again to another Silvia.

I actually think with the way your thinkin tht an se-r badge would be most appropriate due to the fact that 2.5 altimas arent equipped with sr20 or ka motors. The qr motor does come in a se-r version but is found in a sentra from what i believe. Since 3.5 owners put se-r badges to momorialize the VQ motor i dont see why the 2.5 owners shouldnt be able to memorialize the se-r badge on the QR motor.

Makes sense I suppose. The thing is, and I'm not taking credit, but I thought about doing an SE-R badge before I saw other people do it, but I didn't mod my car yet when I first got it. Then I saw everyone else do it. I just love the Silvia and thought it would be cool to badge the altima coupe that, since the badge looks so cool. But I've convinced myself not to do it now. As for the SE-R badge now, I don't know. Yes, it's the same motor but I wouldn't badge it SE-R unless I had the same power output or near the same power output of an SE-R. Putting a badge on a stock car imho (and most people at least in my area agree) is straight up lame. :nono: Like people who put the GT500 kit on a mustang before modding it to give it the same power is not cool. But to each his own.

If I were able to dyno my car after I do all my mods and I'm close to that of the current SE-R tuned QR I might want to badge it. Otherwise, I'm staying debadged.

Oh yea... I'm waiting for the actual SE-R to come out!

As far as the OP, I'm still confused why people get the itch to rebadge their car. Who the hell pays attention to badges anyways. The only ones I notice are the out of place ones.... I just saw an Impala with a nismo badge trying to fool people that he's an american "gtr". either leave your badges or debadge. I highly doubt any badge will make a car look nicer.
