If you are good with a wrench I recommend doing it yourself. It's like bonding with your car. This will keep you from buying someone else's mess that they are trying to sell. Also I would like to say don't just jump on the SR band wagon. Consider all swaps both pros and cons of each before you make a decision. If you do decide to go with the SR then cool its not too bad of a beginner project.

Its called a Silvia. These cars are not legal in the United States and cannot be found here. If you mean a Nissan 240SX, I would try craigslist to start with.

Where did you hear about the Nissan Silvia. Please dont tell me F&F.

I just noticed you are a new member, are looking for a Silvia(not SX) and want to swap the SR20 without even thinking about the KA24DE-T

fixed

Search, search and search and you shall find one. The Sr20 is great, but since you're a newb, I would suggest that you go w/ the KA or KA-T.G/L

its silvia... youre missing an 'I' in there every time. Either way. I smell a flame fest coming between the difference in 240sx/silvia..

4k will get you a nice 240. But, as stated before , if you can turn a wrench it would be cheaper with the DIY approach. If you must pay shops or whatever to do your swap and other work.. Im sure youll benefit from buying a car pre-swapped.

DO you actually pronounce it Silva or is it shorthand for the internets??

Nonetheless call it what you want, although on this forum you might get flamed, because some people will think by "silvIa" you mean a JDM import not a 240sx.

Try the classifieds. If youre looking for a right hand drive JDM, good luck, im pretty sure the RH drives are illegal in the states. I could be wrong As far as an sr20 or KA, definitely look at the pros and cons. I know people who get close to 500 rwhp out of a KA and do the same with and SR. People do have their reasons for liking one over the other, do some research and find out why. Also, doing a swap yourself is much more gratifying than buying a car that already has a swap. Its a bonding experience and you learn way more about your car than you probably even want to know
