when he answers you, let us know what he says. I am curious about that one too.

I think it would be the sickest thing you could do to a sleeper.

Well, I don't know if I'm going to put the AWD in, just RWD, but, if I happen to find a way to make it work, I'll do it just for the hell of it. : ) Since I'm basically having the bottom taken off a skyline. : )

Whoopsie...Sorry DauntTless.

I'm pretty sure rigging up the Attessa AWD torque splitting system for another car would be a nightmare. I'm guessing it would either have to be full time AWD or just RWD.

But I've never even played with it. Altough it does sound interesting. Cmon DauntTless, you know your not busy, get off your *** and build one.

aren't AWD motors set in like FWD? Maybe not all but the GTI-R Pulsar is, the GSX Mitsu is, the WRX is...that might cause a complication. Mybe a Skyline is differnt

No. Not all AWD systems are transversly mounted... The GTR is not and niether is the WRX, the are both normal. Porsche 996, Diablo are normal mount too. Almost all trucks that are AWD or 4X4 are not transversly mounted either.

AS for the AWD S14 idea, whats the problem of making it work? Why would the rear end even be a concern? Gearing or other wise? If you get a Hicas equipted 240, the AWS shouldn't pose a problem should it? My main concern would be the steering system getting in the way of the front drive axles. Couldn't you just throw up the GTR front subframe or am I assuming too much? I know the crossmember bolts up, are there any other parts that do too? I would assume that once you got everything on, wouldn't attessa work the same as it would on the GTR? It wouldn't know that it is on anything else but a GTR.

Peace Jeremy

I figured out how to do it in an S13, have no clue how or if you could do it in an S14, I don't see why not. It requires a lot of unibody modification, read $$$$ that's why I didn't do it.

I'm still contemplating doing it, I have a fairly good idea of what will need to be done, and then all the additional **** that needs to be done for LHD to keep the stock setup. : ) Maybe we'll have to discuss it in email sometime Mad. : )

If you can transfer the AWD to the 240 for a decent price...dude, you'll make mad cash. You'll probably steal alot of bussiness from MotoRex. After all why spend $60,000 on a R33, when you can spend a mear fraction of the cost and have Attesa and the RB26 in your 240.

Those that know what it will take to make it work, please feel free to post what you know.:) I would like to do this myself, but I don't have vast knowledge of Skyline parts. I am saving up about 6K for a GTR clip. I would like a real GTR, but I want to see the look on peoples faces when I launch like 'a bat outa' hell', plus I simply don't have the funds to purchase a GTR and make it legal.

OMG, it totaly slipped my mind that the GTR is LHD and the 240 is RHD... I don't suppose the 240 rack is compatible with any of the GTR pieces huh?

I would think an RB26 in a 240, 4x4 or not would have to lose the twin turbos because the steering shaft would be in the way, Thoughts?

Yes, it would clear if I switched to a top mount and cut the wastegate pipe off and made a new pipe. But thats not the point, I'm doing this to maintain a 100% stock setup. : )
