silly piston question.

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

Okay, from my knowledge I have heard of people putting SOHC pistons in a DOHC to bump up compression, well if you take DOHC pistons and put them in a SOHC motor, would you lower the compression?

would that be 2 low for a turbo? I know lower compression is good but can u go too low?

that's too low for anything.

you probably couldn't spool a T25 with compression that low (i'm exaggerating).

I had 7.5/1 CR in my last RB20. It was pretty gutless off of boost. Driveable yes, fun, NO. But I had it built for drag racing. So slipping the clutch at 5500 rpm and running 2 bar of boost was a regular thing. Not recommended for a daily driver.

I will never build an engine with a static compression less then 8.5/1. In fact I'm keeping the stock CR when I build my KAT project.

My turbo KA24E is at 8.5:1 right now w/o the turbo installed. However it still runs pretty strong even w/o the turbo on it. To prove this point I beat, and completely outran, a Honda hatch, with the basic bolt-ons, a couple weeks back. Don't get me wrong, I am by no means satisfied by this, I can't wait for my turbo to be installed. But 8.5:1 isn't too bad on the KA...well the KA24E atleast.
