Has anyone tried using the JDM AC controls and using the sr20det ac instead of rigging the ka ac?

Granted you would have to refill the freon, but if you get all the parts with a front clip, including the harness for said AC, shouldn't it be a somewhat straight-forward install?

Just curious.

We use the SR compressor on 90% of our swaps (as long as it is good), and make new a/c lines and refill. We do this b/c in general, the swaps (and accessories that come with) have less miles and wear than the doner KA.

Yeah using the SR compressor is not a problem, you just have to get the one (rear) A/C line welded.

If by "JDM AC controls" you mean the digital automatic A/C then be ready for a pretty large project. I had most of the sensors and motors from my clip, but don't know of buy maybe one person that has successfully installed it. Do a search and there are plenty of posts on getting it to work. There are about 5 sensors and 2-3 motor/servos that you need to make it work.

Ah, Thanks.

I was hoping that with a clip you would have everything you need, but it sounds like more trouble than its worth.

Thanks for the info.

I believe you do have everything you need (pending something has been ganked), but it is a major pain.
