I'll pre-empt my question with this brief story:

Yesterday, a 2004 Honda Accord V6 coupe wanted to play on I-75. No problem ... my car is not fully tuned yet, but I know there's enough power at this point to totally embarass him. I downshift to 3rd from 5th and pin it ... BWAM! I knew the sound well from past experience ... car started bogging and stalled at idle. Dern intercooler pipe popped off! Gotta love it :)

Anyway, I wanted to see what types of clamps you other KATs were using for your intercooler pipe connections. I am using what is supposed to be the best on the market; the clamps that are spring tensioned. However, at this point I'm going back to the regular nut/bolt combo. Let's hear it ...

I'm going to be crazy and probably try regular old hose clamps. BUT I'm going to bead my IC piping.

SS t-bolt clamps seem to work well.

Ditto. T-Bolt clamps are standard fare in the biz. They hardly ever blow if you tighten them down right. If you bead the metal AND use T-Bolt clamps I can almost gaurentee you they'll never blow.

regular T bolts for me, although I might use lined screw clamps when I'm first getting everything together, that way I can place a big order for like 12 or 20 T bolt clamps, whatever it will take, and save some money.

Anybody have a line on cheap t-bolt clamps? I wouldn't even really care if they were stainless. I'm talking cheaper than ebay here people :)

Hey scottie...do you have the beaded ended piping? If you dont, you should be able to use standard ring-clamps(worm gears) to hold to piping on. Id always do beaded piping. T-bolt clamps can be found at jgstools.com for reasonable prices.

Also, FYI, all pipes are beaded ... (big 'DUH' to me if they weren't) ... the clamps just suck as they apparently wont tighten to the point of keeping the pipes in tact. It's the first car I've tried this style of clamp ... highly recommended to me from other performance contacts. Buuuut ... I'm rethinking old school again here :)

... and thanks. I can get those locally and I already have a couple in use on the TB side. I'm probably going back to utilizing that style again. :)

Although my car is down (will live again VERY soon). I ordered some T-bolts from JGS.

Also, nobody has mentioned hair spray. It really sticks the couplers to the piping but not so much that you cant remove them. I use Suave. lol

I'd coat the outside of your piping with a thin layer of rubber cement.
