Just started to play this last night. Admittedly, I've never been a fan of the series. They tend to move a bit too slow for my personal tastes. But, my GF got a free copy. =)

The gameplay is generally pretty good. It is slow, but I'm probably contributing to that quite a bit as I keep anticipating attacks that never come. I've only completed the 1st level so far, but its a fairly scary game. A few moments caused the hair on my head and neck to stand already. I don't really play the horror game genre much so I'm not sure how it compares, but it certainly freaks me out. =)

A couple of gripes. If you play inverted, you may want to hold off until they fix a glitch which is causing the inverted camera function not to work (This is slowing me down somewhat too). I'd speculate it can be fixed with a patch and the dev is aware of the problem (I dunno if this is a problem for the PS3 or not).

The only thing I really would like to have seen was more tactile feedback from the controller vibration function. Being a dark game, its not always easy to tell you are getting attacked visually and sometimes by what. Particularly a creature that latches onto you and continually attacks you. You would think you know if something like that was occurring, but I ran around a dark room trying to figure out what was attacking me and finally realized I had to shake it off of me. The controller vibration should have been used to make this more apparent. Then again, perhaps Halo as spoiled me in this regard. I dunno.

Anyone else try this out yet?
