story: Drifters in Japan routinely crashed thier 180sx's and found that when they went to repair the front end it was cheaper to replace it with a silvia front end...hence the name sileighty. Nissan produced just a FEW of these cars due to overwhelming demand...in japan only of course.

technically a sileighty conversion shouldnt have a KA engine either....

technically a Sil-Eighty can't exist in America using a 240SX. : ) It'd be a Sil-Fourty. =P Even if you changed the engine.

Actually the myth of the Nissan produced sileighty is only a myth. Nissan never produced a car called the sileighty. The 500 hundred cars that were supposedly made were from either a dealer or a dealer working with an aftermarket company. However, i don't think anyone has actually seen one of these sileighties. The only actual proof I have ever heard of is a magazine advertisement.

for cool silvias, pick up this months issue of import tuner, its actually becoming a legitimate magazine, not like a ricer guide like most others, and a girl owns one of the coolest silvias in there!!, cool, my kinda woman!

Yeah- Or anyone else out there who watches Initial D, the 2-person female team races a 'Sil-eighty' Which is a 180 with a Silvia front end, as others said. If nobody knows what Initial D is, its a Japanese anime series about mountain drifting / racing. Very cool series.

I never said i had been to Japan. Ask some one from Japan though i doubt anyone will tell you they have seen a Nissan sil-eighty. If they really did exist and were that rare, then some one would have seen one at a car show or something. Look for pictures of a Nissan produced sil-eighty, you won't find one. Nissan would have no reason for producing such a car. Because it would have been a limited run car it would probably cost more than a regular 180sx or silvia. Therefore, eliminating the reason for drifters to have a sil-eighty. If collectors or somebody did buy it for looks or rareity then don't you think they would display it at car shows?
