Hey I am about to be building a 1989 240 coupe and I want to do the sil80 front end conversion. Now I know most of what all I need (body, lights, etc) But is most of it just bolt on and plug-and-play? or what? thats all I need to know. thanks!

you need a silvia hood, fenders, headlights, headlight brackets, corners, 89-90 turnsignals, silvia front bumper, silvia grille and everything is plug and play. Simple wiring can be done on the foglights if u get dual projectors or triples to get them to work.

so your saying that all I need is the front end, and the original headlight bulbs will fit right into the silvia headlights?

240sx headlights done come with bulbs. The silvia headlights should come with bulbs in them. If not and you have to buy them they are h4 bulbs. And the foglights use h3c bulbs which u can find replacements on http://www.thenismoshop.com or you can convert them to regular h3 bulbs.

the 240 tri plug harness plugs into the silvia headlight h4 bulbs also. No problem.

actually, for you to do a sil80 conversion on your coupe, you also need to get the rear hatch assembly, tail lights, center garnish, rear bumper, rear quarter glass and quarterpanels from a hatchback 240sx.

As much as I would love to do that, Im Not going to. Im just doing the front end conversion. I would of bought a hatch if I wanted the full conversion. plus sil80 front ends look better on coupes

sil80 = Nissan Silvia S13 front end on a 180sx or 240sx Hatchback

Silvia conversion = Silvia S13 front end on Nissan 240sx Coupe

S13.4 = Silvia S14 front end on 1989-1994 Nissan 240sx (coupe or hatch)

S13.5 - Silvia S15 front end on 1989-1994 Nissan 240sx (coupe or hatch)

You are wanting to do a #2 - the silvia front end conversion. To do #1 (the sil80) you MUST have a hatchback.

yes I am conducting a silvia front end conversion, sorry I wasnt 100% technical about what I was wanting to do, I just wanted to get the point across and receive the information that I was trying to obtain.

Is that technical enough for you?

lolwut, no. thats not technical enough.

you must be ridiculously dumb to not know the accepted terms for a silfront.

how the hell did you even find out about a silvia front end conversion without learning the terminology that goes along with it?

I facepalmed myself so hard over this thread that I actually hurt my nose.

OP, this is one of those fabled "highly discussed" topics. It would also seem that either your interweb sarcasm is at the highest level it could possibly be, or (more than likely) at the lowest level.
