Hey waz up has anyone here ever heard of the NIssan Sileighty, apparantly it was a mix between the 180sx and the Nissan silvia. The engine produced I think 20 or more horses than the red top and about 4 more lb ft of torque. Numbers are not accurate. Does anyone know the engine code for these cars??? I mean were they still S13???:ylsuper

not to be rude, seriously, but this is a nissan site, of course we've heard of the car : ) i'm not sure about all the specs, just cause i have an s14 and research those more than earlier models of the car. sileighties are very very sweet cars though

The sileighty was a mix between the fastback(taillights) and the silvia (non pop up headlights) It was an S13 with an S13 SR so it doesnt have any hp boost.

You may even realize that some people on here are Sil080 or SilEighty or something like that.

Someone told me they actually weren't for sale by the company, they only produced a few for testing and car shows? Anyone know if it's true or not?

I do believe thats correct, and that means they would have to get the body parts from a silvia (oh thats just soooo hard in Japan). Since they bolt on it would probably be a <$400 conversion there.

i'm pretty sure they were made for purchase, just very very very few. maybe like 100 like Lsnaple said. i remember it being said that a true sil-eighty was very very rare

They produced 400 of the Nissan Sil-Eighty, immitating the scene out there because when the japanese drifters drifted their car into the mountain side, it was cheaper to buy the non popup front end...and put it on their 180sx...looks very good...but I like my pop ups :)

no doubt read Lost's link.....good info there....makes you really appreciate what a true sileighty is. also i was pleased to see they even mentions the one-via. and the 15-eighty

question what is 16~18Kw? how much HP is that?

Lost is right. Nissan saw that the drifters were doing this conversion and decided to build one from the factory. They didnt build to many and the ones they did build handled better and had more HP than a s13. but nissan didnt build a lot cause drifting isnt exactly legal in Japan and Nissan didnt want to look as if they were supporting something illegal. a true Sil-eighty made by Nissan and not by some drifter is worth a ton of money. I heard that they sold one at an auction for around $40k. i found a site while looking around one day, but i forgot what it was. they had some real nice pics of the factory one.
