Hi all I own a fastback and I was wondering if I should get the silvia frontend but so far I've only seen one pic of'em in this forum... I forgot who it was but it was blue.. anyone else have any pic of them? I prefer ones without body kits.. thanks.

That's the sil-80. It has the s13 projector headlamps and the 240sx rear end (rps13 rear, 180sx rear).. You should do that if you want to. I personally wouldn't do that on a fast back, it looks much sweeter on the coupe.. but then again . .it's your car..

I donno I was thinking about it as well, there are LOTS of pics on the net if you search for "sil80" or whatever on google images . The pop-ups are kinda growing on me as well, so I'm still not sure what I wanna do...

the silvia front end is just a matter of taste, and money, if you like it, do it. But if you do it, get the triple-projectors.

it's more JDM to keep the 180sx style and swap in a CA then it is to do the sil-eighty conversion

the reason for the sileighty (not totally but partially) is cuz there are more silvia front ends around in japan then there are 180sx front ends...so if they wreck their car it's cheaper to do the sil-eighty then it is to repair it to 180sx specs

The "blue one" is my baby. Anyway if you decide to do the swap it is hella easy to do one's self and the conversion usually goes for about a $1000 for used jdm parts. Another "pro" is that I have heard you drop 30 lbs by changing out the front end. Don't know how accurate that is but just to let you know.

how many 180sx conversions do you see compared to sil-eighty?

it's cheaper too :D

get the ca18det, Type X tails and the 180sx windows and you're almost 100% done

well the thing is I was originally gonna get a coupe and get a silvia front cuz that looks just TOOO good. But since I'm not blessed with $$$ like some rich kids.... getting money from parents... I gotta work for my $$$ and times are tough so I gotten a fast back since I like how the fast backs look without any front then coupes.

Some IDIOT hit my parked car at night when I was sleeping and dented the front panel and broke the headlights so instead of getting a new popup light and paying for the damage which will be couple of hundred, I could just save up and get the silvia front and put that on instead.

But after seeing how rudee's sil-80 came out I'm not trying to be rude but for some reason its not really going for me. From the side it looks alot like AE86........... dunno im weird like that. Soo.... maybe few more pics of them will convince me to get the front clip with a motor hopefull if i save enough and put it on my car.

i think u should just keep the 180 theme going

it's cheapest for so many reasons

1, no front end conversion, u can go straight to aftermarket bumper...

2. CA18DET is just as powerful as a SR20 but cheaper

3. It's more rare and earns you points at shows and overall just whenever you're showing off your new "JDM" masterpiece

Triple are better. >:)I like the sil80 idea. I think it looks bad ***. S15 lights on 180SX look bad ***, so does the S13 lights. It's your choice but I would go with the sil80.

could someone explain how the car in that link is a "sil80"? it looks like a coupe with a silvia fron end conversion which would make it a 240 converted to a silvia to me. Isn't a sil80 a fastback (or 180sx) with a silvia front end on it?

My two cents: s15 on fastback or 180=bad arse! but id rather have the pop-ups than the s13 silvia on my fastback. s13 silvia only looks good to me on the coupes.

Yep, I live in Santee. I just happened upon the place while surfing the net one day. You might want to email the guys at Mckinney to see if they have any conversions lying around. They get them in quite regularly but when they come in they go fast. They charged me around $950 for used JDM fenders, hood, bumper, headlight brackets, headlights, turn signals and front grill.
