Hey whats going on guys, i currently drive a 2006 g35 sedan with about 93,000 miles on it. I was drive on the freeway and all of a sudden i felt a little jerk and the following signs showed up on my dashboard: "service engine soon", "OD OFF", "SLIP". I have never experienced this since i have been the owner (about 2.5 years). I pulled aside on the freeway, turned off the car and turned it on after a while. The car did turn on but it cranked for a while and then turned on; also something i haven't experienced. The car still runs the same as it did before but the signs and the cranking is what i am worried about. Anyone have any idea what could be possibly wrong and what i should do?

OD is probably "overdrive" and the "slip" light comes on for a lot of reasons. if the "slip" light just blinks and goes off the the VDC(traction/stability control) was activated. the "slip" light stayes illuminated usually with another light to indicate some sort of error.

I would go to you local parts store and get the code read or the dealer. But the "overdrive" is transmission related, i hope you dont have an expensive repair...

The OD off is a new one for me...let us know what the dealer says. Free to have them check it out.

Yeah, shouldn't be an OD OFF on a G that I know of. That would be on an older AT transmission (my AT S13s had it).

I went ahead and took it to firestone and the sign was "VDC OFF" not "OD OFF" sorry. But they said my cam sensors are messed up along with the crankshaft sensor (i didnt know there was such a thing) lol. Engine is perfectly fine and the crankshaft issue was what was causing the car to crank a little longer before turning on.
