i'v had the apexi N1-Dual catback on my 240 for a little over a year now. i started to notice rust on some of the hangers and around the back of the cans where they are welded to the piping. i was wondering if anyone else with Apex exhausts were experiencing this. i know that its normal for mild steel to rust but it seems like its happening awful quick. ill prolly paint over the spots with anti-rust or high heat paint.

A friend of mine had Apexi catback on his Civic and the back of the muffler where the pipe goes in rusted out. He painted over it to try to get the easy fix, but that rusted through too. I have heard from a lot of different places that Apexi mufflers are famous for rusting.

everything stated is true!

the back of the canister rusts!the hangers rust! (thats the first to start)

the best thing about the whole thing is the actual piping, which is painted and i dont see any signs of deterioration.

My experience.. Apexi exhusts... suck! for the price they charge.. they should use all stainless steel!

They do now. The new Apexi N1 Evo is fully stainless.

Hence why I didn't get a Apex again after I owned one on my FC. Other than the PFC and magic boxes, I am not all that impressed with Apex's stuff all the time.

No offense to those of you who have them, but they're junk.

Not only because I've seen several N1 duals (supposedly fully stainless) that are rusted all to hell, but also because the flanges are cheap and fragile and they use a silencer (which is the most retarded way to reduce sound in a so-called "performance" catback.

I'm not saying buy a BRM because ours is the only thing good on the market, but for crying out loud, don't throw your hard-earned $ to a company that has been hosing customers for years.

No offense? No need, none taken. This is the kind of stuff we need to have out in the open. I just got my Apexi installed, and I'm glad I read this. Now I know to watch for this stuff. If anything, thanks!

Well, I wouldn't call all Apexi exhaust junk, but you're entitled to your opinion. Hopefully the new N1 Evo will be of better quality.

Up north, the people who live in the cities will get rust because of the salt & sand they put on the roads for the snow.

People like me who live close to the coast will have the most problems or anyone near a source of salt water.

Apex makes some very good stuff, and some other not so good stuff.

Their electronics are all fantabulous, their cone Air Filter is the best in the world, and from what I hear, they put together a damned good BOV.

Didn't know this about their exhausts.
