hey guys!just bought a 91 240 about 3 days ago. I love it and all but for some reason today when i went to step on it the rpms went up but it took a second to feel the power. it feels like everytime i go to speed up significantly it kinda lags. Like the rpms go up each time i give it gas but theres no significant difference in power output. now yesterday when i would step on it you'd automatically feel the power. It is a 5 spd and i know sometimes it takes a second to catch but this seems like it's almost slipping...

any ideas?

thanks-steve

Im having this same problem in my 93. I changed the clutch a couple months ago and since then its been like that. I had the clutch inspected and its sound. The guy at the shop i took it to sais its the transmission internals. He said it was probly the synchronizer. However i also have a whinning noise when i let off the clutch and when in gear at times. If i were to guess in your situation i would check out the clutch first then go from there. Im no expert just a newb thats been reading ALOT.

" I found the problem!!! Theres a loose nut between the steering wheel and the drivers seat."

Moma I just wana go FAST!!!

I replaced my Clutch, master and slave cylinder and had this problem. When I finally figured it out I couldn't help but laugh at myself. I forgot to adjust the rod on the clutch pedal. So that's my suggestion. Maybe It will help.

Steve it sounds like your clutch is slipping. I don't know whether its when the clutch is warm or cold it slips more but it sounds like that is what is causing it. Let us know to see if we helped
