shifting into 4x4 problems on 90 pathfinder

hi there when i shift into 4 wheel drive while even going 5 mph i get a clink or i cant evwen engage. it usually decides on its own. when i first got it i acted kind of funny but not that bad. it has new fluids in the transfer case and diffs. any ideas?
