i went out the otherday to replace my plugs and wires and my o2 sensor.i sucessfully replaced my o2sensor with, yes, i put anti sieze on them.the plugs and wires however.. i couldnt replace. my wires were the wrong type.

anyhow, i tried to unscrew the sparkplugs, but waddaya know, siezed spark plug.. anyone have any idea on how to remove this w.o stripping the threads?

any info would be appreciated.

it may help to let the engine heat up before you try, also use some PB blaster if that doesnt work.

i asked the autoparts man... he told me not to use wd40? :/he said do it when the engine is semi-warm, but not hot b/c it'll warp or something..anyways, ahh this is beginning to be a real pain

it is so the metal will expand and stop gripping the plug so tightly

WD 40 is water based. That is probably the reason why he said don't use it.

Chances are it will spin the threads out. They make a thread repair kit you can buy at local parts stores if it happens. Just have that handy in case it does strip. Hot should help with removal.

WD40 is a SILICONE oil, not water based at all.
