Sideways Sundays Technical Guidelines
Sideways Sundays is a Grass Roots event intended to give Drifters of all ability levels the opportunity to develop their skills on the Famous House of Drift course at Toyota Speedway Irwindale. For the Beginning and Intermediate Drifters who will not be drifting on the banking this basic tech list will get you started. However, it is by no means complete and just like your driving skills you always want to be improving the mechanical capabilities of your car. Learn more at ZILVIA, SOCAL DRIFT and by consulting the rules books for XDC and Formula Drift.
Beginner/Intermediate Tech List
• Battery properly secured and positive terminal covered
• Engine compartment free of loose items (air filter, hoses, wires, etc)
• No fluid leaks or exposed wires
• Brake lights function properly (at least two red functioning brake lights)
• Seat properly mounted and secure
• Seatbelts properly mounted and secure
• Brake pads and rotors in good condition (min 40% thickness)
• Tires are road-worthy and safe (min 3/32 tread depth, no sidewall damage)
• Wheels and wheel bearings are tight and road worthy
• Windshield is free of cracks which might obstruct the driver’s vision
• Helmet is SNELL certified M95 or SA95 or newer and free of damage
• No loose items in passenger compartment or trunk
• Open cars require a roll bar
• Long pants that cover the driver’s lower body from hips to below the ankles are required

XDC/Formula Drift Drivers
All Drifters who expect to drift on the banking individually or in tandem will be expected to meet the basic tech list shown above, as well as the technical guidelines laid out in the XDC and Formula Drift rules books. Technical inspectors will be paying particular attention to the following sections of each rule book:
XDC
All provisions listed under Section 4.0 Technical Requirements and Section 5.0 Safety Equipment.
Formula Drift
All provisions listed under Section 6 Technical Inspection, Section 7 Required Safety Equipment and Section 8 Competition Vehicles.
If you have any questions regarding any of these guidelines please contact us prior to the event or speak with our technical staff the day of the event. Our goal is to provide an event that allows each driver to get the maximum amount of track time possible.

sorry but the only car you can drift will be your own :/
and it really depends who can come out to drift. If you check out our recent coverage, which is linked at the top, there was one professional drifter who made it :)

an awesome update for those planning to show their ride!
Car Show participants will only be $10 for the July 31st Sideway Sundays event!
That's a $10 discount from the original price. We want the Car Show section to be as big as the drifting event, so make sure to come out, have fun, and show-off your ride.
