Does anyone here know how to get the S13 fastback sidemarkers to blink when the turn signal is on?

If so, does it also work for night time driving?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

you could wire it to the turn signal wires but you would have to eliminate the original power feed to the marker. the only correct way to do this would be to get a dual bulb socket and bulb. You then could splice off the turn signal wiring for the heavier element and wire the original marker wiring to your other element in the bulb. you could probably scrap this together with some parts from an american car line. If you hit a wreakin yard look for GM cars alot of them have those dual socket markers. my 89 caprice classic has them.

NISTECH, this sounds like I am hooking up the sidemarker in parallel to the turn signal wire. Are there any known side effects of doing this (besides the sidemarkers not lighting up during the night)?

You can make them blink but you have to make your own little relay block. Two relays and a diode per side (If I'm remebering right) plus some fun wiring. I wired up our service truck with fancy turn signal mirrors about a year ago. If you want I could try to find the diagram I drew for it. Somewhere lost in the toolbox:)

During the daytime the sidemarkers will blink w/ the turn signal. At night the marker will be on but when you go to use the blinker the power from the blinker will control a relay that provides a ground for the side marker that in turn makes it blink. I think Dodge did it this way on older Cherokees.

I'm guessing the circuit would look like a standard 2-way switch circuit with relays driven by the turn signals and marker power instead of manual switches.

just do like me and buy the clear side markers off customaltima.com, they arent an exact fit but i put a blue light in em and along with my clear turn signals and angel eye headlights it looks pretty damn good
