Is there any preference between the two types of injectors? I've been told that sidefeeds have better spray patterns. Price is pretty close, but sidefeeds tend to cost a bit more: i.e. 4x50 lb is $250 or so, fuel rail is like $130...4x550cc is about $400+. Any thoughts?

excellent thread

i've never heard of the ka/sr fuel rail "maxing out" so i dont see the need to go topfeed becuase of the extra work involved.

Only reason I ask is that sidefeeds seem pretty expensive, even compared to top feeds+fuel rail.

well if you shop around they still come out to be about the same. sidefees still may be a little more but i think its worth not having to go through the extra work.

whne shopping for my 550's i found sets from $350-400 shipped. last year i bought a set of new 740's for $425 shipped

sometimes you can find topfeeds for about $200 plus the rail for $100 plus clips and resistors for about $50 tops. so cost is very close. ease of install is completely different.

i changed my sidefeed injectors in about 20 minutes, with a screw driver and wrench for my strut bar.

Okay cool, I didn't realize you could get sidefeeds for <$400
