might have hit so hard it moved the steering rack over in the crossmember. thats all i can imagine. the steering rack and the engine mount to the crossmember so even if you just dislocated the crossmember, the elbow shouldnt contact the steering shaft as the engine and rack would move with the crossmember.

I have had a similar problem. Except i understeered under normal driving condition through an off cambered turn going slow and kicked the rear end out to correct and while correcting the road changed from wet to dry really fast and my car bit down on the road and flew back at the curb and i hit my front rim and tire and bit it pretty hard. My camber and toe doesnt seem to be horribly off if at all becuase it doesnt vibrate on highway really bad or anything, BUT.... when i turn to the left, it turns really easy, and then when i turn to the right, it feels like i have NO power steering.

Could my power steering rack have shifted as well?

ive takin my daily 240 into a curb from the drivers side a little crocket a 20mph before in an understeer on wet pavement... super slick.. no time really to steer out of it. put my car into someone's front lawn, backed her up and drove away.. didnt hurt anything to my surprise i had figured my control arms would be ****ed... nope. go Nissan!

i let this go for a couple reasons

1) i want our (rb) members to see what street drifting does

2) never hurts to get other people's opinions on how to fix something broke

but its time. this has nothing to do with RB's and you have apparently fixed the problems. for the future, if it dosent have to do with the RB engine/drivetrain. dont post it here

consider this lizzocked.
