Has anyone ever seen or heard of a 350 Z with side exhaust pipes, ive seen alot of mustanges with them on the internet and i know vipers come with them stock but ive never seen anything close to it on a 350Z and i think it would look pretty cool. How easily could this be done? Is it Do-able? If anyone has any info on it or has any pictures of a 350Z with a side exhaust system post some pics and talk about it a little, tell me what you know because im curious i think it would be a pretty cool thing to do and it would probably sound great too.

I doubt it would be feasable, most cars that have sidepipes were either designed with that in mind or have high ground clearance that allows space for the piping, and they can be dangerous, a bud has an old big block vette with sidepipes, you really gotta be careful getting on and out or you'll burn yourself

yah it's do able cut and reweld a section of pipe from the muffler in the back to the front mount a hanger and create a hang point and your done.. it's similiar to some other oem side pipes...

you could also remove the back end of the piping and weld in a single chamber muffler after the cat conv and mount a hanger and hang point.. or u can take the it straight from the headers if u don't care bout emissions tickets and fire shooting out the sides..

true the area around the exhaust will be hot so u if u have ground effects u'll need to put in a heat shield... or hope the plastic doesn't melt.. and ya you will scrape them over speed bumps...

on the viper it's mounted higher in a recess for ground clearence but even still the underside gets kinda toasty.. takes practice..

here's a link: http://s76.photobucket.com/alb...n.flv ... yes it's a datsun Z

I think that there was a Z with a crazy side dumb design where it came out of the side of the fender. It wasnt a hole mind you, the pipe came out of the fender two or three inchs. Granted I think it was a Z that did some of the endurance races in japan but other then that never on a Z. Besides the pipe designs for a side dump on a mustange actually have weird bends which makes it supprising that they see any gains from it.

I agree it's do able. You can almost do anything as long as you have the money. I also agree with everyone else and think it would look stupid.
