I searched all over the internet using google and prevailed with no luck. I own a 2.5 coupe and would like to install the side mirrors with the turn signal lamps. Can anyone push me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

I apologize if this topic has been asnwered before.

why do you want the lights so bad or at all?

I want the bigger engine that comes with the 3.5, screw the lights

I was thinking the same thing. You would have to download the service manual and find out how it is wired. Check out http://nissanautoparts.net/ to buy the parts.

heres a nice long thread from the "other" forum with discussion and pics of how this is easily done.

I'm thinking of doing this myself. That thread from the "other" site is really helpful. Looks like a reasonably easy mod to do, and it looks like the parts themselves aren't TOO expensive (around $350 for everything). The cost ramps up when you consider painting though...

I wonder if a few bottles of cheap touch-up paint can do the job? It wouldn't be a terribly expensive experiment, with each bottle of paint at MAYBE $2 and each mirror cover at a little over $12. Might be worth trying if it will save you the $175-200 to get it painted professionally.

I may order JUST the mirror cover and some bottles of touch-up paint to try it out before I invest in the mirror assemblies themselves. I probably don't want to do the mod if I will have to drop $200 to get them professionally painted...

maybe see how much it would cost to order the cover, painted, through the dearlership and save the money on the assembly by buying it online. call your dealers parts dept and tell them that you have a 3.5 and say that the mirror cover got hit by a rock and cracked and you want to see how much it would be for a replacement cover that is already painted. see what they say and if its significantly more, then just buy the cover yourself and having it painted.

what someone else did is asked their dealership where they sent stuff to get it painted (because obviously they dont do it themselves at the dealership) and go to the paint shop they use, give them the covers and ask them to paint to them next time they have a job from the dealership with the same color. if theyre nice enough they might just do it for free since theyll have to have all the paint and stuff out for the other paint job. probably only a 2 min job for them to paint the covers.

what you want to make sure of before you go and start ordering parts is if this will be a simple plug and play job for you. easy way to do this is to take off the black cover on the inside of the door and see how many wires you have running to your mirror. if you have 7 wires running you your mirror, it will be an easy plug and play job....if you only have 3 wires running to your mirror.....good luck wiring everything.

It's doable. I have the side mirrors just had the cover's painted. You need to buy the assembly and the covers, then have the covers painted. The electronics (heated mirrors, signals, and power adjust) will work... Weird thing is that I have to drill out two new holes as the ones already there are too far apart. Haven't mounted them yet, just gave it a try this morning. I'll post pics and info when I do it. I've posted how to do this before as well. Total cost is about 400 I think. Search the general and exterior forums for info.

Only thing I can think of is I have a part for the sedan instead of the coupe. I agree, hadn't heard anything about people drilling holes but there is no way these are fitting as they are.

For me it has nothing to do with faking. I live in New england and want heated mirrors. Turns signals are cool, but not the reason I got the mirrors.

yea heated mirrors are pretty dope if you live somewhere that gets any kind of winter weather.

has anyone called their local dealerships parts dept and gotten a quote on how much the painted covers would run?

You would think so... But they aren't. I have the mirrors for the sedan. You can tell the difference on the outside because the coupes don't come to a point on the top part of the black triangle when you mount them, the sedan's do. This is why the mount points are different and why they wouldn't fit my car.

I can't think of a way to explain it better, except by saying check it out at a dealer. Pay attention to the black plastic of the mirror and how the topmost part of the black plastic is on the coupe vs the sedan. The sedan mount is slightly smaller than the coupe all around, but this is the easiest way to identify them.

Anyone interested in making this swap be sure to get the coupe part and not the sedan one.
