I have a 2011 M37x and have two questions:

1) Driver side mirror is cracked. Do I need to replace the entire unit or does the mirror itself come off easily? Are there instructions somewhere?

2) I have been adding a inline flasher relay to the center brake light of my vehicles as I think it decreases the risk or being rear-ended (I got rear-ended hard in my S2000 which totalled it). I can't seem to find how to get at the center brake light of my M37x. I have been able to get at it in my other vehicles ('00 M5, '05 Wranger, '05 Envoy). Any ideas?

Thanks.

1. Just the mirror. LH Side Mirror Part# 963661MA0A

Instructions:

1. Place the glass mirror upward.
2. Apply a strip of protective tape (B) on housing assembly.
3. As shown in the figure below, insert a small flat-bladed screwdriver (A) between glass mirror (1) and actuator (2). Push up both pawls simultaneously to remove glass mirror lower half side.

4. Remove both terminals (A) of mirror heater attachment from door mirror (1).

5. Install in reverse order.

2. I would assume by laying the trunk and looking up at it you could find the wiring. But you may have already tried this. If the wiring is not available in the trunk you will most likely need to remove the rear deck cover, or "Parcel Shelf" as Nissan calls it, which does not appear to be the fastest process.

According to the FSM, the rear high mounted brake light can ONLY be accessed by removing the rear parcel shelf. It looks rather daunting which is why I never added a flash module to mine. Here is the FSM for your year:

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/M/2011/

Accessing the light: section 'EXL' page 130

Removal and replacement of the parcel shelf: section 'INT' page 43

If you proceed with this, please try to get pics and make a DIY so it can added to the FAQ section.

Thanks guys. I did try to get at the brake light thru the trunk and, after removing some panels, discovered it's impossible.

I just looked at INT page 43 and that's a non-starter for me. I like the flash module but I'm not taking the car apart to add it. This is good information because I would rather have it look impossible and completely discourage me before I start than it look possible, start, and then find it's impossible.

I am ordering the mirror and changing it myself. Thanks again.

Just an FYI that a flashing brake light is illegal in many states so please check with your DMV/DOT before you install something that will only have to be removed later. VA is one of those states that made me remove mine several years ago.

Does anyone know if the Q70 turning mirrors will fit on the 2011 M37 and if so what extra wiring would need to be done since my 2011 does not have it existing?

Thank you
