sidefeed are a direct plug in affiar while top feed require using a top feed fuel rail (this is assuming you have an SR20) Sidefeeds are more expensive and harder to find. I prefer side feeds because of the easy install and technically you can run them safer at higher duty cycles than top feeds. Lately the company deatschwerks ( http://www.deatschwerks.com/ ) has been selling them for cheap so Id say its the way to go.

I personally dont think there is any performance difference between topfeed and side feed. The only thing is that when you get to certain very large sized injectors like 1000cc and such, they just dont seem to be available as side feed injectors. Unless you are going to be running some absurd amount of power you should be okay with side feeds since they are available all the way to like 900cc ish.

As an experiment, Ive been using my friends car as a guinea pig for some dirt cheap injectors that I bought on ebay from tunertoys.com Despite being cheaper than any other sidefeed that Ive seen (less than 300 for a set of 4 550cc) we've had no problems running about 350rwhp for the past 6 months
