Ok guys so i have an idea. I dont like my plate in front. Id like to remove it when i like.

I have come up with a possible solution, its a little weird..

Im going to get a piece of rubberized sheetmetal cut to the size of a license plate, and adhere it to the plate and cover the edges with friendly material.

Ok so now what do we do with this magneto-friendly plate??

My plan is to adhere a dozen neodyminum magnets on the inside of the bumper, and wham! plate will stick like a magnet on the fridge.

My only concern is that the magnetism may pull up stuff from the road and debris... a screw flying by the car now gets pulled to the bumper...

Comments?

that pullout hideaway licence plate thingie is a really dumb idea.. the first time someone accidentally goes too close to a curb, its gonna pull it straight off, or scrape it up, or bend the front bumper.. really dumb/bad idea!

probably, I'm at work, and we can't view videos on our office computers , so I dont know what the video is of... but I was really pointing to the thread and pictures in it... And I didnt see your post just before my last one

Also, LBC all that pulling and slapping the plate on and off could do some damage to the paint

ive seen those brackets, stillen even sells one. Ive also seen one that was electronic!

I am concerned about driveways, those brackets are atleast 2 inches and i cant spare that.

Serkle, its going to be rubber covered!

I wouldnt be taking off and on all the time, id leave it off mostly. Just for when i need to have it there id like an option though...

Whats the peanut gallery's thoughts on it picking up road debris etc.

until road debris turns magnetic I wouldn't worry.

well if the debris were magnetic, it would repel!

Im concerned about coming around a corner on the highway or something and a bolt/screw being in the air and getting sucked to the bumper...

Lots of crap on the side of the roads here in NY

i dont see that as a problem. i would think that your magnets would have to be relatively close to the object to pick it up. and when you're moving the chances are even more slim

I am very glad Arizona does not require a front license plate. they are worthless and I do not understand why a bunch of states require them? Arizona has photo radar for speeding and red light cameras and gets all the info they need from the rear plate!
